80's Icons Information Society Make the Transition to Cortex
Groundbreaking HDC-1000 anchors the INSOC live shows
Both internationally and nationally acclaimed, InSoc blazed the path in the mid-1980's with their international classic "Running," one of the most influential electro/freestyle tracks of all time. Since then, this dynamic group has gone on to release numerous Top 40 dance hits, including the #1 smash "What's On Your Mind (Pure Energy)", as well as "Walking Away" and "Peace and Love, Inc." and left an indelible mark on the development of electronic dance music culture in the US and the World..

With Platinum and Gold records in markets worldwide and countless national and international tours under their belt, Information Society reformed in 2005 with its original line-up, and tours consistently throughout the world, supporting their upcoming new album, 'Synthesizer', scheduled for release later in 2007 through digital distribution channels such as iTunes and eMusic.
"Information Society is one of the American godfathers of electronic dance music alongside European contemporaries such as Depeche Mode, New Order, and Human League," boasts GCI marketing manager Peter Wohelski. "We're excited to have such an esteemed international act as part of the Cortex family.
The group now takes to the stage with a stripped down, easy to transport stage set-up, highlighted by a Cortex's HDC-1000, which is used as a 'sequencer' for their backing tracks. Information Society founder/producer Paul Robb explains this unique way of incorporating the HDC-1000 into their live shows, further adding the unit's versatility. "We use the HDC-1000 to play the backing tracks for our live shows as our sequencer. It's exactly the kind of bomb-proof playback device we'd been looking for for years" raves Robb.
