Cortex Sponsors Summer Atlanta Community Hip-Hop Project

Green Light Open Mic To Spotlight DJ and MC Talents

Edison, NJ - May 22, 2007:  Cortex, a part of GCI Technologies, is proud to announce its sponsorship of the Atlanta, GA based Green Light Open Mic community hip-hop project set to kick off this summer. The project, as a continuing series of events, features a complete mobile interactive performance and recording system and combines a stage show along with a music production team, web video broadcasts and an endless roster of up-and-coming performers, producers and production techs from in and around the Atlanta area.

Green Light looks to tap into the motivated and enthusiastic Atlanta urban/hip-hop scene, home to such multi-platinum talents as OutKast, Lil' Jon, Ludacris, and Cee-Lo, by providing young and talented MC's the unique opportunity to showcase their raw freestyle ability on stage using professional equipment and have their rhymes streamlined to the whole world.  The project's entire series will be captured by independent film production company Winnetka Films for a documentary film slated for release in early 2008.

"The response to the project has been off the charts!  Over the next few months, we expect to film and record hundreds of people for the first time and it's very likely that the Green Light will not only discover some huge stars but team up to develop them,"  raves producer/manager Eric Peterson.

Providing the beats will be Atlanta's hottest young DJ's and producers who will be rocking the latest in DJ technology to move the crowd all summer long - Cortex's revolutionary patent-pending HDC-3000.

"ATL has been a hotbed of R&B and hip-hop talent since the 90's with artists and producers like Dallas Austin, Jermaine Dupri, and Babyface paving the way for a new generation of talents," reminds GCI/Cortex Marketing Manager Peter Wohelski.  "The Green Light Open Mic has massive potential not only to discover hip-hop's new stars but provide inspiration and a creative outlet for all ages of Atlanta youth.  Cortex is pleased to be involved with this project."
